Photography is for my sanity (not business – otherwise I’d be a very poor man) – it doesn’t mean I’m any good at it but occasionally I get a decent shot that someone - or some organisation - might like. Indeed, I have permitted use of a number of my images by organisations such as National Trust, UK The Best, schmap.com, Springboard Stories...

Where I authorised use of a photo for Non-Commercial* purposes on an 

‘Attribution Non-Commercial No Derivatives’ basis',

this is on condition there is a credit ”copyright Steven J Lewis” (with adequate prominence to prevent subsequent use through ignorance) and on condition you do not amend the image without my express permission (which you should retain as evidence, if granted).

 

*  Non-Commercial – for example a school project or a screensaver (although I did invoice my wife for my photo on her PC desktop background), whereas to include my photo in something which you are paid to produce, even if it is a free publication, is not a non-commercial basis.

Waiver: if you wish to use my photo commercially then you must be mad and a madman cannot enter into a legal contract but a business (cannot be certified insane) can contact me. I cannot give permission to use images of National Trust properties except to the National Trust.
